Learning Involves Patience and Time: Family Teams activities provide structured times throughout the year for students to come together and connect with each other. Family Teams consist of students from different grade groups and classrooms, and allows students a break from regular classroom activities. Sometimes, we come together in Family Teams to complete a specific task, and other times we come together simply to play. The ability to create break times for students helps some students self-regulate and manage their emotions. Students have told us that: "Getting a break from work sometimes helps me from feeling overwhelmed". One student mentioned that some people need more breaks than others and "it helps me with calming down when my teacher lets me go for a break".
